Update from our CEO: Milestones and celebrations
Dear colleagues,
Spring is officially here, and we have quite a few milestones and successes to celebrate.
After a slow start to the financial year, we have increased sales and number of customers in our stores, which is really amazing.
Thank you for your great efforts here, both in stores, at our DCs and our Head Offices.
TWO BIG BIRTHDAYS
In the beginning of April, we had two big birthdays as JYSK in Denmark celebrated 45 years since our founder Lars Larsen opened his first store in Denmark. At the same time, JYSK in Germany celebrated their 40th birthday since the first store.
A big congratulations to both countries.
We also celebrated a big milestone in Poland, where I had the pleasure of being part of the opening of store number 300. A big congratulations to Poland too. Expansion is in our DNA, and it is great to see Poland continuing to grow and bringing our great offers to even more customers.
VISITS TO THE COUNTRIES
In April, I – along with our EVP Finance Signe Lind Jacobsen and EVP Retail Mikael Nielsen – have also visited many of you in the stores as part of our bi-annual meetings with the country management teams.
It is always great to visit you and experience first-hand how dedicated you are to making JYSK a success. I would especially like to highlight your efforts in garden furniture sales. You are delivering exceptional results with both garden furniture and our price heroes. Keep up the good work!
The Executive Management Team also visited our three German distribution centres. I really enjoyed meeting so many dedicated colleagues working hard to improve the service towards stores and customers every day, and it was very inspirational to see daily routines and structure at the DCs. We plan to visit more of our DCs in the future.
STRATEGY PROCESS WELL UNDER WAY
We are currently in the middle of our yearly strategy work with JYSK Management Team to define our priorities for the next financial year. Some of the big topics for JYSK is cost management, a new sustainability strategy and even more focus on our great offers to both customers and to you to grow your careers in JYSK.
FOCUS ON DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
May is EU Diversity Month and we have decided to mark this occasion with a social media campaign called “We are all…”.
I am proud that we overall have a high evaluation in our ESS (employee satisfaction survey) saying that you feel that you can be yourself here at JYSK.
